Admissions & Eligibility

Q1. What ages do you accept at The Wonder Years?
We accept children from 6 months to 6 years, across Infant Care, Toddler, Preschool, LKG, and UKG programs.

Q2. How do I apply for admission?
You schedule a campus visit, meet the Principal, fill in the enrolment form, submit documents, and complete fee formalities to confirm the seat.

Q3. What documents are required for admission?
Typically a birth certificate, vaccination record, address proof, recent photographs, and any relevant medical or learning reports.

Q4. When should I apply for the next academic year?
Admissions for LKG and UKG usually open a few months before the academic year; early applications are recommended as seats are limited in each age group.

Q5. Can my child join mid-year?
Yes, mid-year admissions are possible for Infants, Toddlers and Preschool ages and the child meets the age and readiness criteria for the program.

Q1. What programs do you offer?
We offer Infant Care, Toddler Program, Preschool, and Kindergarten (LKG & UKG), along with daycare, after-school care, Saturday care, and summer camp.

Q2. Which teaching methods do you follow?
We blend Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf and Kindergarten philosophies with structured kindergarten practices for balanced experiential learning.

Q3. Is your program only academic?
No. Academic readiness is combined with projects (LKG & UKG), experiential learning, self-directed work, outdoor play, and social–emotional development.

Q4. How does a typical day look for my child?
Each day includes circle time, focused learning blocks, hands-on activities, free play, outdoor time, meals, rest/quiet time (for younger children), and reflection.

Q5. How do you prepare children for Grade 1?
We build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, writing and reading while also focusing on independence, attention span, social skills, and confidence.

Q1. What are your school timings?
Core preschool and KG hours run in the morning, with extended daycare and after-school care available until evening.

Q2. Do you offer flexible timings?
Yes. Families can choose only school hours or opt for extended daycare/after-school based on their needs.

Q3. How can I know the fee structure?
Fee details are shared during the admission discussion or campus visit to ensure clarity and answer individual questions.

Q4. What are your payment options?
Fees can typically be paid monthly through UPI, bank transfer or other accepted modes communicated at the time of admission.

Q5. Do you follow a holiday calendar?
Yes. We share an annual calendar with school holidays, special events, and vacation dates at the start of the year.

Q1. How do you ensure my child’s safety?
We use controlled entry/exit points, CCTV coverage in key areas, extra safety gates, trained staff, and regular fire and safety drills.

Q2. What is your illness policy?
Children with fever, contagious illness, or vomiting are asked to stay home; if a child falls ill at school, parents are contacted immediately.

Q3. How do you maintain hygiene?
Classrooms, washrooms, and play areas are cleaned regularly, with child-safe cleaning materials and handwashing routines built into the day.

Q4. Are staff trained in first aid?
Key staff are trained in basic first aid and emergency response, and first-aid supplies are maintained on site.

Q5. Are visitors allowed inside classrooms?
Visitor entry is controlled and recorded; parents may visit with prior coordination to avoid disrupting classroom routines.

Q1. Do you provide food or should we send from home?
Parents should send home food; we have a well‑equipped kitchen with a fridge and microwave to safely store and heat children’s meals.

Q2. Do you provide snacks?
We offer optional fresh evening snacks for daycare and after-school children; details are shared with parents during admission.

Q3. How do you handle allergies and dietary needs?
Parents must inform us in writing about allergies; we take care to avoid restricted items and monitor children closely during meal times.

Q4. Do children have nap time?
Younger children have a dedicated sleep area and scheduled nap/quiet time; older children get rest or quiet reading/relaxation time.

Q5. What should we pack in the snack/lunch box?
We encourage simple, healthy options like fruits, homemade snacks, and balanced meals; avoid junk food and highly processed items.

Q1. Do you provide transport?
If transport is available to your location, details are shared during admission; otherwise, parents or designated guardians handle drop-off and pick-up.

Q2. What are your drop-off and pick-up procedures?
Children are handed over only at designated points and only to authorized adults listed by the parents.

Q3. What if I am running late for pick-up?
Parents should inform the school as early as possible; late pick-up may shift the child into supervised daycare based on policy.

Q4. Can someone else pick up my child?
Yes, but only if previously authorized in writing or via registered communication, and after identity verification.

Q5. Is there parking available?
Basic parking or a safe drop-off zone is provided but not for extended times. 

Q1. How will I know what my child did during the day?
Teachers share regular updates through daily report book, verbal feedback, Whatsapp messages, photos and summaries.

Q2. How often are parent‑teacher meetings held?
Formal meetings are scheduled at key points in the year, with additional appointments available on request.

Q3. How can I contact the school if I have a concern?
You can call or request a meeting with the Principal or class teacher; we encourage open, respectful communication.

Q4. Can parents participate in school events?
Yes. Parents are often invited for celebrations, annual functions, special days, and occasional classroom activities.

Q5. Will I receive progress reports?
Yes. Age‑appropriate progress updates and reports are shared monthly, especially for preschool, LKG, and UKG.

Q1. How do you help children settle in when they first join?
We follow a gentle settling-in plan with shorter days initially, free trial, 1:1 support from teachers, and close communication with parents.

Q2. How do you handle separation anxiety?
Teachers support children with loving consistent routines, comfort objects if needed, and reassuring communication with both child and parent.

Q3. What if my child has learning or developmental needs?
We observe children closely and, where needed with communication with parents, involve our Special Education Consultant to suggest strategies and early support.

Q4. Do you work with external therapists?
With parent consent, we can coordinate with external therapists to maintain consistency between home, therapy, and school.

Q5. How do you manage challenging behaviour?
We use positive guidance—clear boundaries, calm redirection, and teaching of appropriate skills.

Q1. What special events do you celebrate?
We celebrate festivals like Onam and Christmas, along with Annual Day, Weekly special days, monthly theme days, and class events on our program stage.

Q2. Do you organize summer camps?
Yes. Our summer camp uses a large covered space and outdoor areas for themed activities, projects, and lots of fun learning. We usually restrict it to 30 children. 

Q3. Are there extra‑curricular activities during the year?
Children participate in art, music, movement, storytelling, and outdoor games as part of the regular timetable.

Q4. Do children go on field trips?
We usually plan 3 outings a year for our Preschool, LKG & UKG children. Additionally, we plan 2 outings for Summer Camp during April and May.  Age‑appropriate outings are organized with strict safety measures and prior written consent from parents.

Q5. Can non‑students join your camps?
Subject to seat availability and age criteria, some camps and special programs may be open to children from outside the school community.
